Program Summary This week marks 15 years since the Rwanda Genocide began. Over a period of 100 days, 800,000 Tutsi and Hutu moderates were systematically massacred in a campaign of ethnic cleansing. 15 years have passed, but to the survivors, it seems like only yesterday. This year, we light candles in memory of the past and in hope for a future of peace, reconciliation, and unity. 10,000 candles have been lit in Kigali to begin 100 days of candle lighting around the world. You can either upload a video lighting a candle, send a message of hope and solidarity, or make a donation towards women and young people still living with the effects of genocide. |
