I was in a funk one day....sat on my sofa, turned on the TV and saw the show for the first time, it was the Kenya episode. I immediately felt that I needed to be a part of some tangible positive change and started making phone calls. I connected with that episode and loved the tone of the show, because the audience was made to feel that we could actively participate in changing things. There wasn't a tone of pity or hopelessness, which was refreshing to see because pity does not empower, it only creates a divide which is an illusion.

For years I was so close to going to Africa or India to do humanitarian work but always made excuses to myself, and let people talk me out of it, but that episode of 4real was the catalyst that finally got me to escape from the comfort cage that I was in for too long!

Next thing you know, I'm in India, at NGO meetings, and on the streets with the people... Well, I skipped a lot there...LOL! It wasn't quite that simple, but in brief I took the journey of a lifetime and have grown and evolved so much by doing so. I truly realized the power that we ALL have to create beautiful ripple effects of healing across the globe.

It just takes one drop to start a ripple effect and 4real was the little drop that got me re-energized and prompted me to renew my commitment to humanitarianism.

I've joined this site in hopes of connecting with people doing great things in their own backyards and all around the world because I’d like to be a part of it ...maybe we can work together one day. I’m down for anything pretty much and I'm not afraid to put my hands in the dirt or travel to the edges of the earth.
